Nicolás Gambetta tiene un doctorado en Contabilidad de la Universidad de Valencia, España. Recibió el Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado de la Universidad de Valencia. Además, tiene una Maestría en Negocios (por investigación) en Contabilidad / Auditoría de la Universidad de Tecnología de Sydney (UTS), Australia.
Es titular de la Cátedra de Sostenibilidad Empresarial y coordinador académico de Postgrados en Contabilidad e Impuestos en la Universidad ORT Uruguay.
Gambetta enseña materias relacionadas con la sostenibilidad, contabilidad financiera y auditoría tanto a nivel de pregrado como de posgrado. Ha sido galardonado con el Premio a la Excelencia Docente en Estudios de Posgrado en Negocios en 2023 y 2012, así como el Premio a la Investigación y Producción Académica en 2019 y 2016 en la Universidad ORT Uruguay. Recibió el “Premio Emprendedor Joven Australia América Latina 2017” otorgado por el Gobierno Australiano. Asimismo, fue distinguido con el “Premio Nacional del Medio Ambiente” otorgado por el Ministerio de Ambiente de Uruguay en 2022. Ha publicado en revistas académicas de alto impacto como The British Accounting Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Cleaner Production, Urban Climate, Environment, Development & Sustainability, International Review of Economics & Finance, Service Business y Spanish Accounting Review. Es Investigador Nivel II en el Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI). Anteriormente fue gerente de Auditoría en KPMG Uruguay (2000-2011).

Gambetta teaches subjects related to sustainability, financial accounting and auditing at both, undergraduate and postgraduate level. He got the Award for Teaching Excellence in Graduate Business Studies 2023 and 2012, the Award for research and academic production in 2019 and 2016 at Universidad ORT Uruguay. He received the “COALAR Australia Latin America Young Entrepreneur Award 2017” awarded by the Australian Government. He received the “National Environment Award” granted by the Uruguayan Ministry of Environment in 2022. He has publications in high-impact academic journals such as The British Accounting Review; Journal of Business Research; Journal of Cleaner Production; Urban Climate; Environment, Development & Sustainability; International Review of Economics & Finance; Service Business, and Spanish Accounting Review. Level II Researcher in the National Researchers System (SNI). Former Audit Manager at KPMG Uruguay (2000 – 2011).
