Inés M. Pousadela es Licenciada en Ciencia Política por la Universidad de Buenos Aires, Magíster en Sociología Económica por el Instituto de Altos Estudios Sociales (IDAES-UNSAM) y Doctora en Ciencia Política por la Universidad de Belgrano (Argentina).
Tiene además dos certificaciones en fotografía del Montgomery College (Rockville, MD, EEUU). Además de dictar las asignaturas Política Comparada y Sociedad Civil Global en la Universidad ORT Uruguay, es especialista senior de investigación en CIVICUS: Alianza Mundial para la Participación Ciudadana, e investigadora del Mecanismo de Revisión Independiente de la Alianza para el Gobierno Abierto.
Antes de vincularse con ORT en 2016, Pousadela dictó numerosos cursos de grado y postgrado en las áreas de teoría política moderna y contemporánea y política latinoamericana. Fue becaria de CONICET y de CLACSO, investigadora del Instituto Gino Germani (UBA) y el IDAES (UNSAM), consultora del PNUD (Proyecto Democracia) y el BID (Proyecto Justicia y Seguridad Ciudadana), investigadora visitante en American University y en las universidades de Brown, Georgetown y Maryland), e investigadora del proyecto global La Sociedad Civil en la Encrucijada (CDRA, EASUN, INTRAC, PSO, ICD, PRIA).
Ha publicado varios libros y numerosos artículos y capítulos de libros sobre temas de representación, participación, movilización, sociedad civil, cultura política, corrupción, transparencia y rendición de cuentas. Su trabajo en CIVICUS se centra en las restricciones del espacio cívico y el activismo de los movimientos sociales. Sus investigaciones alimentan las campañas de incidencia de la organización en defensa de las libertades ciudadanas.
Inés M. Pousadela holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires, a MA in Economic Sociology from the Instituto de Altos Estudios Sociales (IDAES-UNSAM) and a PhD in Political Science from the University of Belgrano (Argentina).
She also holds two certifications in photography from Montgomery College (Rockville, MD, USA). Besides teaching Comparative Politics and Global Civil Society at ORT University, she is a Senior Research Specialist at CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation and a researcher for the Open Government Partnership’s Independent Review Mechanism.
Before oining Universidad ORT in 2016, Inés taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of modern and contemporary political theory and Latin American Politics. She was a fellow at CONICET and CLACSO, a researcher at Instituto Gino Germani (UBA) and IDAES (UNSAM), a consultant for UNDP (Democracy Project) and IDB (Justice and Citizen Security Project), a visiting researcher at American University, Brown University, Georgetown University and the University of Maryland, and a researcher for the global project Civil Society at the Crossroads (CDRA, EASUN, INTRAC, PSO, ICD, PRIA).
She has published several books and numerous articles and book chapters on issues of representation, participation, mobilization, civil society, political culture, corruption, transparency and accountability. Her work at CIVICUS focuses on civic space restrictions and social movement activism. Her research feeds the organization's advocacy campaigns in defense of civic freedoms.
